Jessie Wong from PTJ Muaythai Sydney has been on an incredible rise in her Muaythai journey, representing Australia at the IFMA World Championships and gaining invaluable experience competing in Thailand alongside her teammates.
All that hard work and dedication culminated in her biggest challenge yet — the prestigious WMC Australian Title, contested against Queensland’s Skylah Hammil, a multiple-time IFMA Youth Gold Medallist, at Coastal Warfare on the Sunshine Coast, QLD.

After five hard-fought rounds of elite Muaythai action, Jessie’s hand was raised in victory by unanimous decision, marking a career-defining moment for the young athlete.
Both fighters showcased the true spirit, skill, and beauty of Muaythai, earning the respect of everyone in attendance.

In a post-fight interview, Jessie shared her thoughts on the bout:
“She came out hard with fast, strong straight punches as I expected, but I just tried to keep a high, tight guard and time my body kicks. I tried to gauge distance and get into the clinch. She kept slipping away in the first two rounds, but by the third, I wore her down and gave her a small cut, which gave me heaps of confidence. Her teeps to the face and body got me several times, but I stayed focused on the goal — to get into the clinch and score with my knees.”
The WMC congratulates Jessie Wong and Skylah Hammil for their outstanding performances and commitment to the art and sport of Muaythai.
