Muaythai is back in the spotlight as Coastal Warfare returns to the iconic Shed on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast—an event proudly supported by Muaythai Australia, Queensland Muaythai, the WMC, and IFMA.

For over 25 years, this legendary venue has been home to some of Australia’s most memorable muaythai showdowns, including the historic Australia vs Thailand clashes. Now, the tradition continues with an action-packed fight card featuring two title bouts and a stacked lineup of undercard matches. Another full house is expected for what promises to be a night of high-level competition and unforgettable moments.

Sunshine Coast Muaythai—one of the country’s oldest and most respected gyms in Australia —continues to lead the charge. Founded by Joe Hilton, a pioneer of Australian muaythai and one of the original architects behind the WMC and Muaythai Australia, the gym remains a driving force in the sport’s development.

“These events are vital for showcasing the best talent we have and ensuring the continued growth of muaythai in Australia,” says Hilton. “Through our development program, we’re committed to bringing out the best of the best.”

Coastal Warfare has long been a cornerstone of Australia’s muaythai scene—both a proving ground for rising stars and a career highlight for seasoned fighters. With the backing of Australia’s only officially recognised muaythai governing body, this event promises to deliver world-class action once again.
