
The Egyptian youth muaythai team returned home from the IFMA Youth World Championships in Abu Dhabi to a warm and celebratory welcome, marking another milestone in Egypt’s rapidly growing muaythai journey.
The homecoming was followed by a special training course inaugurated in Cairo, attended by distinguished guests including:
- H.E. Mr. Thanawat Sirikul, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Egypt
- H.E. Dr. Ilhan Bolokhov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan
- Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim, President of the Egyptian Muaythai Federation
- Mrs. Tipsuda Sirikul, wife of the Thai Ambassador
- Ms. Narisa Samanavanich, Counselor of the Royal Thai Embassy
In his address, H.E. Ambassador Thanawat Sirikul emphasised the strong and enduring friendship between Egypt and Thailand, underlining that muaythai is an integral part of Thai heritage. He praised Egypt as one of the fastest-growing nations in the global muaythai family, commending the youth team for their performance in Abu Dhabi.
H.E. Dr. Ilhan Bolokhov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan, also congratulated the Egyptian delegation, acknowledging the impressive display of talent and determination by the young athletes. He further engaged in discussions with President Mohamed Ibrahim on strengthening cooperation between Egypt and Azerbaijan in the field of sport, including opportunities for exchange programmes between their national teams.
President Ibrahim extended his gratitude to both Ambassadors and the Royal Thai Embassy for their continued support and collaboration, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to developing muaythai as a vehicle for cultural exchange, youth empowerment, and sporting excellence.
