Lion Belt Gala took place over the weekend in Belfort France which was sanctioned by the WMC and FFKMDA, IFMA’s sole French Federation with an international card of elite-level bouts.
The main event of the evening stole the show as local lad Bevan Oguz faced Switzerland’s Hakim Bah for the prestigious WMC European Champion title in the welterweight division (67 kg).
Hakim began with a quick pace from the beginning winning the first two rounds and landing an elbow which caused a cut on the eyebrow of the Frenchman. Hakim also won the third round but the Frenchman, far from being discouraged, launched into the fourth with incessant pressure and won the last 2 rounds. This was not enough to reverse the scores and the victory went to Hakim Bah who knew how to manage his lead.
All in all a great fight with a lot of commitment from both teams who displayed a lot of respect toward each other.
