Abu Dhabi, UAE – The 2025 UAE Muaythai Championships are poised to make history from February 14-16 at the state-of-the-art Muaythai Arena, Space 42. In what promises to be a landmark event, nearly 1,000 athletes representing 61 muaythai gyms will test their mettle in the Open Championships, the final trial before the Junior World Championship 2025 hosted by the UAE.

This championship not only highlights the prowess of the UAE Muaythai Federation, FAMA, and IFMA—the world governing body for muaythai recognized by the IOC—but also underscores the region’s commitment to the growth and cultural significance of the sport.

Teams from across the globe, including Morocco, Libya, Palestine, Algeria, Iraq, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, and Saudi Arabia, will compete alongside the home team, demonstrating the international reach and influence of the sport. As the IFMA 2025 tournament season commences, this event will shine a spotlight on emerging talent destined to fortify national teams in the upcoming Senior and Youth World Championships.

Competitors aged between 10 and 23 years have already begun arriving in Abu Dhabi for medical evaluations and weigh-ins. The opening ceremony on February 14 will be graced by prominent figures from the National Olympic Committee and various Sports Ministries, underscoring the event’s national significance.

IFMA extends its congratulations to His Excellency Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, President of UAE Muaythai and FAMA ,Vice President of IFMA, whose visionary leadership has been instrumental in shaping this event. His Excellency emphasized that this championship is critical for gaining valuable ring experience and identifying the next generation of muaythai superstars, thereby ensuring the sport’s legacy both as a cultural art form and a competitive discipline.

In full collaboration with the National Olympic Committee and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the event will also feature extensive professional development opportunities with 186 coaches and 86 referees participating in dedicated coaching and technical courses. The competition will be held across four rings within Space 42 Arena, the official Muaythai venue in the Middle East.
