Muaythai Uniting Thailand and Russia Through Sport and Culture

A special event will take place in Moscow to strengthen the long-standing friendship between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Russian Federation.

The Thai Friendship Cup 2025 will see individual athletes from Thailand face individual athletes from Russia in a series of exciting Muaythai bouts, symbolizing unity, mutual respect, and cultural exchange through sport.

This prestigious event is held under the support of the World Muaythai Council (WMC) — the world federation for professional Muaythai, established under the directive of the Royal Thai Government.

The venue will not only host thrilling sporting competition but will also celebrate the rich cultural heritage of both nations, showcasing traditional Thai performances and Russian hospitality.

Muaythai superstar Buakaw Banchamek has travelled to Moscow to lead the Thai delegation and promote Muaythai as a tool for cultural understanding and international friendship.

A special press conference was hosted by the Russian Muaythai Federation, where both parties highlighted the importance of using sport to build bridges between cultures and nations.

In the spirit of unity and sportsmanship, both countries have agreed that all eight athletes competing in the Friendship Cup will do so as neutral athletes, emphasizing the true essence of international friendship through Muaythai.
