Kuala Lumpur’s Axiata Arena to Host a Muaythai Grand Prix
Muaythai fever is set to grip Malaysia as the iconic Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur plays host to a spectacular Muaythai Grand Prix from the 24th to the 27th of July. The four-day event will bring together nak muays from across the nation, creating a powerful showcase of both elite professional talent and the next generation of Muaythai stars.
Sanctioned by the World Muaythai Council (WMC) and held under the guidance of the Malaysia Muaythai Federation, the event will feature professional bouts contested under WMC rules alongside grassroots development contests governed by the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA).
This unique combination underscores Malaysia’s deep commitment to both the sport and the art of Muaythai—from the grassroots level all the way to the global stage.
Dato’ Shahnaz Azmi, President of the Malaysia Muaythai Federation, expressed his pride in hosting such a prestigious event, stating:
