
The East Asian Muaythai Championships 2025 delivered a dramatic championship finale at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Hong Kong, as Turkey’s Abdüssamet Uğurlu captured the WMC Intercontinental Featherweight Title (57kg) following a gripping five-round battle against home favorite So Tsz Hin.


Fighting in front of a passionate Hong Kong crowd, So Tsz Hin rose to the occasion, showcasing his trademark speed, precision, and relentless work rate. The local star pushed the pace from the opening bell, drawing loud support from the stands as he attempted to control the tempo with sharp combinations and intelligent movement.


However, Abdüssamet Uğurlu proved equal to the moment. The Turkish striker applied constant forward pressure throughout the contest, landing powerful kicks and heavy scoring strikes that steadily shifted the momentum in his favor. His composure, ring control, and ability to answer every challenge turned the bout into a true international classic.

After five closely contested rounds, the judges were split, reflecting the intensity of the contest, with scorecards reading 49–48, 48–50, and 49–47, awarding the victory by split decision to Abdüssamet Uğurlu of Turkey.

With this victory, Uğurlu etches his name into WMC history as the new Intercontinental Featherweight Champion, delivering a statement performance on one of Asia’s biggest Muaythai stages.
