Over 30 million viewers from around the world followed the final of the WMC King’s Cup final, and what a final it was. The evening started off with a semi-final fight between Changpuek Kiatsongrit and Sean Sor. Sumalee.
We saw 2 amazing athletes displaying world class Muaythai from the opening to the closing of the fight. It was Changpuek who took a point decision to the delight of the audience moving to the final and Sean Sor. Sumalee received a standing ovation for a truly world class performance.
The second final saw a South American champion from Peru, Gabriel Mazzetti was matched against Bow Suweilek from Malaysia and Gabriel showed again that Muaythai is truly international with booking his place in the final against the Thai champion.
The final round saw a pride of Thailand versus the pride of Peru in a 3 round match which kept the audience on the edge of their seats. There was no breathing space as both fighters competed for H.M. the King’s trophy and the end there could only be one winner and it was Chanpuek from Thailand lifting up the trophy of all trophies. An unforgettable night of Muaythai also showcasing again how international Muaythai truly is and respect to all the athletes who have qualified and book their place.
