In addition to the earlier statement released, IFMA wishes to issue the following statement:
All Russian & Belarussian athletes that have qualified for the World Games 2022 with immediate effect will not be allowed to compete in Birmingham. This also includes until further notice, participation at IFMA’s international competitions.
In order to preserve the safety of all athletes and the integrity and fairness of all our competitions, IFMA has decided to align itself with the event protective measures recommended by the IOC in its statement of 28th FEB 2022.
IFMA will certainly continue to monitor the situation in Ukraine and will make any further immediate decisions depending on the situation as it progresses.
