It is with deep respect that we at the International Federation of Muaythai Associations acknowledge the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother of Thailand, who died peacefully on 24 October 2025, aged 93.

A Life of Service

Born 12 August 1932, Her Majesty ascended to the status of Queen consort in 1950 and later honoured as Queen Mother. Over many decades she undertook a wide range of national and international roles — from championing rural development, preserving traditional Thai crafts (notably Thai silk) and environmental initiatives, to symbolising maternal care and cultural continuity for the Kingdom of Thailand.

Our Reflection at IFMA

As the global governing body for Muaythai, with strong links to Thailand — the birthplace of the sport — the passing of Queen Sirikit resonates deeply with our community. Her devotion to uplifting Thai heritage and Thai people echoes our mission to uphold the cultural origins of Muaythai, while promoting the sport’s global growth with dignity and respect.

We remember her as a figure whose compassion, stability and national pride helped shape the modern Thai identity — an identity which includes the art and practice of Muaythai.

Tribute and Condolences
