The beautiful island of Mauritius was swept by Muaythai fever during the much-anticipated Indian Ocean Muaythai Championships, organized by the Mauritius Muaythai Federation under the esteemed banners of the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) and the World Muaythai Council (WMC).

Held at the iconic SMK Stadium, the event—titled “King of the Jungle”—brought together elite athletes from Réunion, Madagascar, Mayotte, and Mauritius, creating an electrifying atmosphere of skill, spirit, and sportsmanship. The championships were conducted under the distinguished chairmanship of Mrs. Karen Fook Kune Bacha, Junior Minister of Youth and Sports, a former national badminton champion and a proud representative of both the Government of Mauritius and the Olympic movement.

Broadcast live and followed closely across the Indian Ocean region, the event stood as a celebration of athletic excellence and regional unity.

Mr. Sham Seeratam, President of the Indian Ocean Muaythai Federation and IFMA Executive Board Member, extended his sincere gratitude to all athletes, coaches, officials, and supporters. Mr James Agathe the newly elected Mauritius Muaythai Federation President gave special recognition to the Junior Minister for her presence and steadfast commitment to the development of sports and youth empowerment throughout the region.
