The Singapore Muaythai National Qualifier, held on Saturday, March 22nd, proved to be an unforgettable day of fierce competition and incredible displays of athleticism. Hosted at Club Lunar in Orchard Plaza, the event gave Singaporean athletes the chance to compete for a coveted spot on the national Muaythai team. The atmosphere was electric as local fighters showcased their skills, determination, and heart, aiming to secure their place in IFMA international tournaments such as the upcoming World Championships and the World Games.

The competition drew athletes from gyms all across Singapore under the umbrella of the IFMA national federation but didn’t end with the qualifiers. The action continued into the afternoon with a professional sanctioned event under the WMC. From 3 PM onwards, elite-level Muaythai combat was on display with some of Singapore’s most experienced athletes competing in a packed stadium.

President Mike Tang highlighted that events like these not only allow us to spotlight our Singaporean athletes and elevate them to the international arena, but they also play a crucial role in supporting grassroots muaythai, aiding in the development of athletes’ careers. With an exciting calendar lined up for 2025, stay tuned for more updates!

Congratulations to all athletes who earned a spot on the national team and congratulations to all involved for putting together another well-organised event.
