On November 30th, Muaythai Arena III event took place at the Four Points by Sheraton in Bolzano, Italy, showcasing an electrifying night of Muay Thai action. Sanctioned by the World Muaythai Council (WMC) and Federkombat, Italy’s sole IFMA Federation, the event did not dissapoint with 3 WMC titles on the line.

The event’s spotlight was firmly on local sensation Desireé Righi, who stepped into the ring to challenge Czech contender Adelé Kolínská for the vacant WMC European Title at -57kg. The crowd was on the edge of their seats as the two fierce competitors exchanged powerful strikes. In the end, Desireé Righi triumphed with a hard-fought victory, much to the delight of her passionate home crowd, cementing her status as one of the country’s top fighters.

The co-main event featured a highly anticipated rematch between Karin Stauder and Noemi Romano for the Italian title in the 54kg division. The fight was a tactical battle, with both women demonstrating exceptional skill and resilience. In a closely contested decision, Noemi Romano emerged victorious, earning the Italian title with a well-deserved points win.

The main event of the evening was another thrilling rematch, this time between Magdalena Pircher of Italy and Johanna Persson from Sweden, as Pircher defended her European title in the 51kg division. Both fighters came in with everything to prove, and the bout lived up to the hype. Johanna Persson delivered an extraordinary performance, taking the title after a dominating display of technical Muaythai.

The event proudly featured all-female led title bouts, a significant milestone that highlights the tremendous progress Muaythai has made in terms of gender equality. Over the years, the sport has evolved, breaking down barriers and providing women with equal opportunities to showcase their skill, strength, and determination in the ring. This landmark event not only celebrated the incredible talent of female fighters but also underscored how far the sport has come in fostering inclusivity and recognition for all athletes.

Davide Carlot, IFMA Executive Board member and WMC Italy President, emphasised that the event was truly memorable, marking a significant milestone for Muaythai in Italy. He noted that it serves as a testament to the remarkable growth and flourishing of Italian Muay Thai in recent years. Carlot proudly stated that the level of female competition in Italy has reached exceptional heights, now rivaling, if not surpassing, the male scene in terms of skill and talent. This achievement, he concluded, represents a real victory for the sport and the athletes pushing its boundaries in Italy.
