The United Muaythai Association of India (UMAI), one of India’s leading Muaythai federations, successfully hosted a four-day national Muaythai workshop in cooperation with the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA).

The important Muaythai Standard Seminar included key components such as the Coaching Course, Khan Certificate Program, and an R&J (Referee and Judge) Course, ensuring a comprehensive approach to technical, ethical, and cultural education in the sport.

The seminar was officially opened by IFMA General Secretary Mr. Stephan Fox, who once again emphasized the importance of a unified education system to ensure that all stakeholders — athletes, coaches, and the supporting entourage — are aligned not only with the official rules and regulations, but also with the ethical foundations of IFMA.

FAMA General Secretary Mr. Mervyn Tan congratulated UMAI and all participating coaches for their remarkable achievements in recent years, particularly their outstanding performances at the Asian Championships.

IFMA Director General Charissa Tynan provided a detailed administration update to all stakeholders and extended her appreciation to UMAI and its General Secretary, Mr. Shriram Choudhary, for their continued efforts to elevate Muaythai in India.

The coaching team was led by Grandmaster Chao, who guided the delegates through the importance of Muaythai’s cultural elements, especially as Wai Khru and Mae Muay are now recognized as full medal disciplines under IFMA.
