Saturday the 24th of July was a night to remember on the Italian muaythai circuit as Number One War Promotions hosted an evening of international elite bouts. The event which was sanctioned by the WMC and in cooperation with Feder Kombat featured a gargantuan line up of Italy and the surrounding regions finest Nak Muays.
Headlining the event was a much anticipated European title bout between Alex Avogadro from Italy and Manuel Gomez from Spain set at 61.22 KG (Light-Weight division). The fight started off playful in the opening round with both fighters picking up the pace swiftly. Manuel brought his A game to the fight but Alex was not willing to buckle in front of his home crowd and was awarded the belt much to the pleasure of his many fans in the audience.
IFMA Executive Board Member and WMC Italy Coordinator Davide Carlot stated that muaythai is officially back in Italy after much uncertainty regarding events over the last 18 months. We have a packed calendar over the forthcoming months with a Super 4 and MAD title bout already fully confirmed. We would like to congratulate all at Number One War Promotions for putting together this monumental event and we look forward to the next one.
