Empire Fight Series took place over the weekend, featuring an evening of elite-level Muaythai sanctioned by the WMC and MTA, IFMA’s sole member federation in Australia.

One of the highlights of the night was a high-stakes professional clash for the WMC Lightweight State Title, as James Gifford squared off against Reece Corrigan.

Corrigan put on a masterclass performance, making himself a three-time state champion with a dominant win over Gifford. He came out strong, managed the range well, and quickly adapted to Gifford’s low kicks. Corrigan began landing powerful left kicks to the body, ultimately securing a KO victory in the second round.

When asked about his future plans in the sport, Corrigan shared his intention to travel to the motherland, Thailand, to train and potentially take a couple of fights, with his eyes firmly set on the WMC national title.

He thanked his coaches and family for their ongoing support, and expressed his gratitude to Empire Fight Series for putting on a great show and giving him the opportunity to be part of it.
