Las Vegas, Nev. – After selling out its first Muay Thai event at Pechanga Resort & Casino, Lion Fight Promotions returns Friday, July 31 to California’s premiere casino with a fight card that will be broadcast nationwide on AXS TV. The event pits Thai legend Malaipet Sasiprapa against British sensation Liam “The Hitman” Harrison in the evening’s headliner.

IMG_0001Malaipet’s 146 pro wins and prestigious championships at Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Stadium assure that he is a slam-dunk Hall of Famer whenever his fighting days are over. But the masterful showman, now 33 years old and living in Fresno, Calif., figures to have his hands full against the heavy-handed Harrison, a four-time world champion whose 74 pro Muay Thai and kickboxing wins have included 38 knockouts.

“Malaipet is one of Muay Thai’s biggest names and most accomplished fighters, a superb technician who has been kicking sandbags since he was a young boy and so kicks extremely hard,” said Lion Fight president Scott Kent. “But Malaipet is going to have to be in phenomenal shape because Liam Harrison is an ultra-aggressive finisher who might be the toughest opponent Malaipet has faced in a few years. Liam Harrison is himself a really big name in Muay Thai – in the past a major Thai magazine voted him ‘Best Foreign Fighter.’ That is an extraordinary honor and yet another reason this is a very dangerous fight for Malaipet.”

Malaipet (146-29-6, 23 KO’s) vs. Harrison (74-18-2, 38 KO’s) is a non-title affair at 147 pounds.

LION FIGHT 24 airs live on AXS TV starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. The broadcast will feature play-by-play and color commentary by UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich alongside renowned sports commentator Michael “The Voice” Schiavello.
