On Saturday, August 10, 2025, Lebanon made history as it hosted SFC x African Glory at the iconic LA SALLE venue, a night that showcased world-class Muaythai on the international stage. The headline bout saw hometown favorite Mahmoud Ghandour face Thailand’s elite technician Petchnarin Sathianmuaythai for the prestigious WMC MAD Lightweight Title.

From the opening bell, both fighters put on a masterclass of skill, heart, and determination. Ghandour pressed forward with power and grit, while Petchnarin countered with precise, technical strikes. Each round was fiercely contested, with neither man willing to give an inch. The crowd roared as the momentum swung back and forth, keeping everyone on edge.

Then, in the fourth round, the fight reached its dramatic conclusion. Reading his opponent’s timing perfectly, Ghandour unleashed a lightning-fast head kick that landed clean, sending Petchnarin to the canvas. The referee waved it off, and the arena erupted in celebration as Mahmoud Ghandour was crowned the new WMC MAD Lightweight Champion.

More than just a victory, the night was a triumph for Lebanese Muaythai — a moment that blended combat excellence with cultural pride, firmly placing Lebanon on the global combat sports map. A big thank you must go to Louai Kiblawi, the Lebanon WMC representative for his continued hard work in pushing the sport forward.
