Friday the 16th September was a big night for fight fans around the world as the semi final of the Super 8 tournament took place at ONE: Dreams of Gold. The event did not disappoint with another stacked card held at the Impact Arena in the capital city of muaythai, Bangkok.
The first fight saw Samy Sana from France go head to head with star of the Contender Asia Series Dzhabar Askerov from Russia. Samy Sana the taller of the two started off strong and trying to close the range to box with Dzhabar who trying to keep his distance and chop the legs of the French giant. At the end of the 3 rounds it was the French man who had his hand raised progressing to the final of the tournament.
The second fight of the tournament between Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan and “Smoking” Jo Nattuwat was a highly anticipated bout as the pair have met before with Petrosyan taking the win. Once again it was Petrosyan who came out on top this time with a finish in round 1 and heading one step closer to having a million dollars in the bank.
The final is scheduled for October the 13th in Tokyo, Japan where a millionaire will be crowned.
