Rumble of the Kings Promotion have – at last – the great honour of presenting:
A WMC world championship fight in bantam weight (118 lb./-53,5 Kg), between
Parita Padpho (MOR RAJAPAT JOMBUENG) and Sofia Olofsson (ODENPLAN FIGHT GYM)
Sofia Olofsson (27 yo) from Täby, north of Stockholm has taken the world of Thai boxing by storm with her journey to the top. With 33 wins, of which 16 by KO and merely six losses her amateur record has rendered her
• Several times Swedish Champion
• European champion 2014.
• In 2015 both Nordic champion and gold medallist in the Bangkok world cup
• 2016 amateur gold medallist in the world championships, 53,5 kg
and as pro Sofia conquering her first WMC European title in September 2016, securing her a chance to fight for the world title.
Sofia is considered to be the no 1 bantam weight boxer, but this title will also give her the formal recognition.
23 yo Parita Padpho (Nongprai) stems from Saraburi, approx. 120 km northeast of Bangkok.
She is younger than her opponent and slightly shorter, but has a greater fight experience. Despite her low age Nongprai has fought 53 fights and won 43 of them.
Nongprai has previously fought in -51,0 kg. She won the IFMA World Cup in Bangkok 2015, same year as Sofia Olofsson won in the next weight class. She has also won the prestigious Asian Beach Games and prior to that the junior world championship.
For this fight Parita chose to go up a weight class. The main reason being that she beat most in -51 kg and is also the number 2 challenger in -53,5 after Sofia Olofsson, who was the first in rank for the vacant WMC title.
Parita Padpho is also one of three female boxers who qualified for the World Games 2017.
Together with Sofia Olofsson (54 kg) and Valentina Shevshenko (60 kg), she secured her place in the competition when winning the gold in the World Cup 2015 in Bangkok.
