On the 4th of May at SRG Promotions, a new champion was crowned as Sam Gardiner became the new WMC Lightweight MAD champion. Sam faced Thailand’s seasoned fighter Lek Fahsatan in what was both a technical and extraordinary display of muaythai skill. The fight began fast-paced with both fighters giving it their all until Sam was able to finish early with a 3rd round stoppage.

Following the fight and win, Sam expressed his thanks to everyone who has supported him throughout his journey, the fans and especially those who have pushed him hard doing training.

He stated that this is just the beginning and he feels that he is the fittest and strongest he has ever been and is now back in training ahead of the IFMA World Championships in Greece which will run from the 31st of May to the 10th of June where he will represent Australia at the highest level.

Congratulations to Sam on an epic victory and good luck in the upcoming World Championships.
