Saturday the 15th of January in the picturesque city of Colombo, Sri Lanka will see an evening of muaythai action put together by the Sri Lankan muaythai federation. The event which is sanctioned by the WMC will feature Sri Lanka’s best fighters battling it out for bragging rights and a chance to climb the muaythai ladder.
The headline fight of the evening will be for the WMC Sri Lankan Title which will see Kumudu face Vishnu in the welterweight division. Both fighters have left no stone unturned in the build-up to this fight and have promised to put on a show for their many fans who will be in attendance.
The President of the Sri Lankan Muaythai Federation, Asoka Jayarathna stated that muaythai in Sri Lanka continues to flourish with more and more people heading to the gyms each year. It is important that we focus on the grassroots level in order to prepare our athletes for the world stage and this is something that is very much in line with the mission and vision of the federation.
