An important meeting took place between the Governor of Phuket Mr. Narong Woonciew, Mr.Wirat Patee, Director of Sports Authority of Thailand Phuket Office, IFMA President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan and Secretary General Stephan Fox, representatives of the Amateur Muaythai Association of Thailand, IFMA Technical Delegate Ajarn Paiboon Srichaisawat and IFMA’s Local Organising Committee partner Brite Panther led by CEO Mr. VitSuthithavil.
The main meeting took place at the venue Blue Tree where the delegation was briefed on the development of the official venue and all side activities. Further site visits took place at the proposed official hotel and convention centre.
The Governor of Phuket welcomed the delegation together with the General Manager of Blue Tree Mr. Daniel Steinke and representatives of the relevant Phuket Provincial Government departments.
The Governor thanked IFMA and AMTAT for choosing Phuket as the venue to host the 2021 IFMA World Championships.
IFMA President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan made a detailed presentation together with the Secretary General Stephan Fox and CEO of Brite Panther on the event highlighting IFMA’s strict policy on prioritising the health and safety of all participants at the core of their work.
Preparations are in full process to welcome the athletes from all five continents in Phuket for this historical event after IFMA’s full recognition by the IOC.
