The Panhellenic Muaythai Federation (PMF) organized the Panhellenic Muaythai Championship 2026 on April 25–26, at the Olympic Facilities of Paiania, bringing together the Greek Muaythai community.

The event recorded strong participation, with more than 800 athletes (Elite: 539 – Novice: 275) from 74 member clubs, while total attendance exceeded 2,000 spectators, reflecting the continued growth of Muaythai in Greece.

The Championship featured a high level of competition, with intense bouts across all categories, highlighting the technical level, discipline, and values of the sport.

The Opening Ceremony included the Parade of Athletes with the Greek Flag, the Cyprus Flag, the IFMA flag, and the flags of the member clubs, as well as the participation of the PMF Referee Body. The IFMA anthem “We Are Muaythai” was performed live by Kida Lay, followed by a Muay Boran demonstration, showcasing the cultural heritage of the sport.

A welcome speech was delivered by the President of PMF, Mr. Ioannis Papadopoulos, who highlighted the importance of the event for the development of Muaythai in Greece, before officially opening the competition by striking the gong.

The competition ran smoothly over the two days, concluding with the medal ceremonies for the athletes.

The program also included Muay Boran demonstrations and Para–Muaythai bouts, promoting the values of tradition, inclusion, and equal participation.

The Panhellenic Muaythai Championship 2026 further reflects the steady progress and growing strength of the Muaythai community in Greece. The IFMA family now looks ahead with great anticipation to returning to Greece—the birthplace of the Olympic Games—for the 2026 Youth World Championships, where the next generation of athletes will once again unite through sport, culture, and shared values.
